Krish Bhurtel
builds systems that hold up
under real signal.
Information Engineering student at HAW Hamburg. I write Python that automates real workflows, and I'm learning the hardware side — digital circuits, signals, embedded C — well enough to know where software meets silicon.
What I'm doing today
I'm currently in my second year of a B.Sc. in Information Engineering at HAW Hamburg, splitting my coursework between software construction in C and Java, digital circuits, data structures & algorithms, and signals & systems.
Before this, I worked as a Software Support Intern at Heartsun Technology, where I supported a Python-based healthcare ERP system, wrote automation scripts for repetitive business processes, and documented defects alongside the dev team — my first real exposure to production code and how software actually gets shipped and maintained.
Outside coursework, I build small tools to practice what I'm learning: OCR pipelines, encrypted messaging, automation scripts. I like taking something I've just learned in theory and seeing if I can make it actually work.

Selected work
OCR Document Processing System
An OCR pipeline built with Python, Tesseract OCR, and pdf2image that automatically converts scanned PDFs into searchable digital documents — cutting manual document handling down to a single automated pass.
Secure Messaging Application
A messaging application in Python with AES-256 encryption end to end, including custom key management, built to understand how secure communication systems actually implement cryptography rather than just call a library.
Instagram Data Collection Tool
A Python automation tool that extracts structured data from public Instagram profiles, with robust exception handling for the messiness of real-world scraping and clean, organized dataset exports.
Django Web Application
A backend web application built with Django to practice full-stack fundamentals — routing, server-side logic, and structuring a Python project the way it's done in production rather than in a single script.
Where I've worked
Software Support Intern
- Supported a Python-based healthcare ERP system and resolved technical issues.
- Developed Python automation scripts for repetitive business processes.
- Performed software testing before production deployment.
- Documented defects and collaborated directly with developers.
- Worked with structured datasets, APIs, and backend workflows.
Product Management Intern
- Assisted the product management team in planning and coordinating day-to-day product development activities.
- Supported project documentation, requirement gathering, and maintaining organised project information.
- Participated in product discussions and tracked progress of ongoing tasks with the team.
- Assisted with market research and basic data analysis to support product improvements.
